Following the end of the transition period on 1 January 2021, the EU CLP regulation, including Annex VIII of Article 45 (which will come into force on 1st January 2021) will apply in EU Member States and in Northern Ireland.
In Great Britain, importers and downstream users should continue to voluntarily submit information on hazardous mixtures placed market to the National Poison Information Service (NPIS) in the form of Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Manufacturers may also continue to voluntarily submit this information in the form of SDS.
This will apply for products already in the marketplace in the UK.
If you are a UK based business and you have already submitted a dossier to the NPIS, you may be asked to update your data or wait till the end of transition period.
C4C consultancy can assist you with obtaining UFI number and dossier submission, if you are a UK based business and trading in the UK, Northern Ireland and EU.
The Unique Formula Identifier (UFI) is a 16-character alphanumeric code that will be required on the label of products that contain a hazardous mixture. In addition to having the UFI on your labels, you will also be required to provide information on your mixture, and associated products, to poison centres.
